Important. Scalpel is a professional web-inspection tool. Use it only on sites, accounts and sessions you have the right to access — your own, your team's, or those you are authorized to work on. What you do with the tool is your responsibility.

What Scalpel is

Scalpel is a mobile application for iOS and Android: a browser with professional developer tools. It lets you inspect the DOM, network, console, storage, memory and source code of the pages you open in its built-in browser. All data produced by that use is stored on your device.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Scalpel on your devices. The app and its contents (code, design, brand, texts and images) are the property of its developer and are protected by intellectual property law.

Acceptable use

You may use Scalpel to develop, debug, audit and understand websites. You may not:

Live-editing a page with Scalpel only changes the local copy your device sees; even so, what you do with that capability (for example, fabricating misleading screenshots) is your responsibility.

Trial and subscription

Scalpel includes a 30-day trial from first use. When the trial ends, continuing to use the inspection instruments requires an auto-renewable annual subscription.

Renewal and cancellation are governed by Apple's or Google's terms. You can check the status and turn off auto-renewal from your store account settings.

Inspection is a tool

Scalpel is provided "as is". The data the instruments show — requests, response bodies, heap, DOM — comes from the system's browser engine, and its availability and detail may vary by platform, system version and inspected site. We do not guarantee full parity with desktop DevTools or complete accuracy of every metric. Verify in your development environment before making important decisions based on what you see in the app.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Scalpel and its developer accept no liability for damages arising from the use or inability to use the app, from decisions made based on inspected data, from using the tool on third-party sites, or from the loss of local data (for example, when uninstalling the app or switching devices without a backup). Keep device backups if your data matters to you.

Changes to the app and to these terms

We may update the app and these terms. Substantial changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, in the release notes. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law and, where applicable, by European Union law. For any dispute, and unless applicable consumer law provides otherwise, the courts of the consumer's place of residence shall have jurisdiction.
